Wanted criminal killed in encounter

A wanted criminal involved in 44 criminal cases was killed during an alleged police encounter in the Sadar Jaranwala area, while a police constable injured in a recent incident was also linked to the suspect, police said on Saturday.
Police said the SHO, along with reinforcements, chased the suspects and cornered them near a bridge in Chak 122 GB, where the suspects were hiding in bushes. When police ordered them to surrender, the suspects again opened indiscriminate fire.
The injured suspect was being shifted to hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way.
