QUETTA:
Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has said the Lasbela university has gained major achievements in the last five years and is counted among the country’s well-known varsities.

“The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a fortune-changer project for Pakistan and it will boost the economy of China as well. I believe that the Lasbela university will play a major role in the multi-billion dollar project due to its strategic location aimed at Gwadar and Karachi,” said the governor while addressing an inauguration ceremony of two-newly established blocks at the Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) on Thursday.

Achakzai inaugurated the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Science and the Administration Department and showed satisfaction over the performance of the university and its staff.

“We have been living in the least-educated province of the country, but our young generation is talented and skilled and can share their knowledge and skills in the CPEC-related projects,” he said. “Today we have inaugurated a building, but improving the building and the new department is up to the administration and students.”

Talking to media after the ceremony, the governor said, “The election process is a part of democracy. New faces replace previous ones. Being a citizen of Pakistan, I have cast my vote.”

On the new government set up in the province, Achakzai said, “I am completely unaware of the new government. As far as I am aware regarding elections, the result of some constituencies has been delayed due to technical issues in the Election Commission of Pakistan’s Results Transmission System.”
