Commissioner wants all hurdles in road expansion projects removed

Quetta Commissioner Hashim Ghilzai on Friday said the district administration has decided to intensify work on Quetta Development Package and Quetta Beautification Plan in order to provide relief to the people.
He stated this while chairing a session held to review the progress made so far on both the projects.

Quetta Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Tahir Zafar Abbasi, Project Director Ali Ahmed, railways officials and representatives of various departments were present.
Ghilzai stressed upon mutual cooperation among all departments in the road expansion project.
The session reviewed all hurdles in the road expansion project under the Quetta Beautification Plan and discussed the government and private land allotment procedure.

“Construction of boundary walls outside all government departments is under way while as per demand of the government departments, the service lines will be shifted,” said Project Director Ahmed.
He said shopkeepers on Joint Road had been given one week to evacuate their shops and after that all shops would be demolished and hurdles removed in the Sariab and Sabzal roads expansion.
No compromise on pace of development work: Quetta commissioner
Addressing the session, Commissioner Ghilzai said, “A food street will be established on Joint Road; therefore, all necessary measures must be taken on time.
“All concerned departments should pursue mutual cooperation to remove hurdles in the project. People of Quetta will be relieved after the expansion project is complete.”
