Six killed in different incidents in Multan

Two labourers and varsity student among the victims

MULTAN: At least six people were killed in different incidents in Multan on Friday.

Police said a labourer lost his life after he fell in a well in Jalalpur Pirwala area. Karim Baksh was coming out of a well after working when he slipped while stepping on a broken ladder.

Five die in separate incidents

In Haweli Lang area, 70-year old Ahmed Yar was crushed to death by a truck. The police shifted the body to hospital for legal formalities.

Similarly, 12-year old Danish was grazing his cattle on a roadside when he was run over by an oil tanker. He died instantly.

After the incident, area residents protested by placing the victim’s body on the road and blocking it for hours. The protest ended after the local administration and police ensured that the driver would be arrested soon.

Meanwhile, three people, including Azhar Virk and Jahnagir Thiraj, were riding a motorcycle when a truck hit them. As a result, Jahangir died on the spot while the others were injured.

In another incident, 18-year Adeel Naeem, a student of Khalid Bin Waleed University, drowned after he fell in Thengi Canal.

The rescue teams recovered the body and shifted it to hospital.

In a separate incident in Hasilpur, a labourer lost his life when he was hit by a boring crane machine. Rescue officials shifted the victim’s body to hospital.
