A contestant on the Turkish iteration of Who Wants to be a Millionaire was left stumped by a question on where The Great Wall of China was located, The Independent reported.

Cons Su Ayhan, 26, was asked where the landmark was located for 3,000 Turkish Lire. She was presented four options: China, India, Japan or South Korea.

Su ended up sacrificing two lifelines to answer the question.  Initially, the contestant sought the help of the audience to answer the question. Unfortunately for her, only 51% said China. An unsure Sue then phoned a friend. The woman stood eliminated after failing to correctly answer a following question on the composer of a popular Turkish song.

Su and the audience have been subjected to much ridicule, with their failure being placed at the doorstep of the nation's public education sector. The woman has defended herself saying she could use the lifelines whenever she wanted.

"I hope many people in the audience failed to answer the question thinking it was too easy to be asked, setting a trap. Otherwise, this huge ignorance problem cannot be solved, even with our new Education Minister Ziya Selçuk," columnist Ahmet Khan commented on August 6 in a piece for Hürriyet.
