Investigative authorities have arrested a man who was allegedly creating and operating fake Facebook accounts of government officers, officials disclosed on Thursday. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said that they have arrested a Rawalpindi resident suspected of being involved in hacking and creating fake accounts of the officials. According to the details, the FIA team arrested Amir Bashir who was said to be ‘actively engaged’ in the activity. “This man most recently hacked the Facebook account of former acting Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Akhtar Ali Shah and then asked his friends to send him money,” said an official of the FIA, adding that a journalist friend of Ali Shah had sent around Rs20,000 through Easypaisa.
