Lynching in the name of cows makes one look like a fool: Kangana Ranaut

Actor believes there is a prejudice against people who are keen on protecting animals

In the last few years, India has witnessed many incidents of Hindu-Muslim rivalry wherein lynching by cow vigilantes has often been a topic that sparks debate. Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut who's known to speak her mind on social causes was quick to share her two cents on the matter, reported The Indian Express.

She said, "You feel conflicted. You want to save the animals but when the lynching happens, you feel heartbroken at what’s going on. It's wrong."

During Kangana's interaction with media personnel, she revealed that the crew panicked while filming one of the scenes for her upcoming film Manikarnika. She said, "There's a scene in the film where my character Rani Laxmibai has to save a calf. My crew had a discussion and we decided to halt the shoot. They said that we can’t save a calf because we don’t want to look like cow savers." The Queen star did not mention if the scene was changed or not.


Kangana believes that there is a prejudice against people who are keen on protecting cows. She stated that it's what makes her want to work for the betterment of cows in the country. The Tanu weds Manu actor continued, "But when people start lynching in the name of cows, you look like a fool."
