FAISALABAD: A man was gunned down over a financial dispute in Faisalabad’s Nishatabad area, Express News reported.

A police official said that the incident took place within the limits of Nishatabad police station.  He added 40-year-old Ejaz and Ghulam Qadir had a monetary dispute with Safdar Ali and others.

He said the three men had an argument over the matter. However, when the arguments escalated, both parties allegedly opened fire on each other. As a result, Ejaz was killed on the spot, while the others suffered injuries.

Nishatabad DSP Qaiser Mushtaq and other police officials reached the spot and shifted the body to hospital for legal formalities.

While speaking to Express News, DSP Qaiser Mushtaq said that Ghulam Qadir and Safdar Ali were involved in a financial dispute.

“Ghulam Qadir approached Ejaz for help and Safdar Ali started hurling abuse at them.” He pointed out that an argument occurred between the two and led to a shootout in which Ejaz was killed, while others were injured.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and started an investigation.

In yet another incident, a man killed his brother-in-law after he divorced his sister in the Rajana area. The police said that Shakeel, a resident of Chak No 351, married Tahir’s sister two-and-a-half years ago. However, the couple developed differences soon after the marriage.

In sheer frustration, Shakeel divorced his wife. This enraged Tahir and in a bid to take revenge he gunned down Shakeel and fled the scene. The police registered a case at Rajana police station.
