LAHORE: NAB Chairman Justice Javed Iqbal has said each and every complaint being filed to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will be handled properly.

NAB has proven it is apolitical: Iqbal

He expressed these views while paying a third consecutive visit to NAB Lahore on Wednesday. The chairman was given a detailed briefing by NAB Director General Shazad Saleem over numerous mega corruption cases. This also included complaints relating to alleged corruption and embezzlement in different government and private departments.  During the visit, the chairman directed all the officers to complete their investigations for cases within a period of 10 months. During this period, the accused may be issued call-up notices without any delay.

Justice Iqbal maintained that NAB only sees the cases not the faces of the accused. “Our prime focus is going towards betterment; all investigation officers should work independently on merit and according to the law. No complaint should be kept waiting,” he said.

Investigation officers are the backbone of the bureau, he maintained.
