Honour killing: Man allegedly kills wife’s friend, injures her
Case registered with Kala police station
DERA GHAZI KHAN:
A man allegedly gunned down a person whom he suspected of being his wife’s friend in Shah Sadar Din Town, Dera Ghazi Khan on Tuesday.
Kala Police Station SHO Allah Ditta Gujjar told The Express Tribune that Irshad, a resident of Munawarabad, had suspected that his wife M* had illicit relations with an area shopkeeper Sajjad Bhatti.
He added that in a fit of rage, Irshad and his brother Fayyaz Hussain barged into Sajjad’s shop and allegedly opened fire on him. As a result, he was killed on the spot. The accused also opened fire on his wife and injured her. After the incident, the accused fled the scene, the SHO maintained.
Later, the police reached the spot and shifted the injured woman and body to District Headquarter Hospital. The woman was stated to be in critical condition.
Allah Ditta said that they have registered a case under sections 302 and 324 against the accused. He pointed out that raids were being conducted to find and arrest the culprits.
