Governor Ishrat-ul Ebad and Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Khan Ghouri will inaugurate the Port Grand food and entertainment complex at the Native Jetty today (Saturday).
The project is a food, shopping and entertainment complex built with an investment of over Rs1 billion by Grand Leisure Corporation. It is spread over 13 acres and will have 40 outlets with more to be added later. The entry fee will be Rs300 per person out of which Rs200 would be redeemable at the food outlets and shops inside.
The area underneath the Native Jetty bridge has been cleaned up and rehabilitated. The few trees that existed at the site have been preserved. The 150-year-old banyan tree, for example, has been untouched. The Napier Mole Bridge has been repaired and the corporation installed an irrigation system for the tree to give it an even longer life.
Space has been reserved for parking for over 800 cars with a complimentary valet service. press release
