NIH briefing: Upgrading lab facilities critical

ISLAMABAD: The federal government needs to upgrade the laboratories at the National Institute of Health, said Caretaker Minister for National Health Services Mohammad Yusuf Shaikh.

During his visit to the NIH, Shaikh said though health is a provincial subject, the federal government cannot absolve itself of its responsibility. New initiatives undertaken by NIH are of immense importance in supporting the provinces. Moreover, he said that the NIH that you see today is entirely different from the institute of the past.

“NIH is a national asset and has enormous potential. I am sure it will contribute towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals and serve our people,” he said. NIH has been busy in research since 1960s.
