Chaudhry Shujaat and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi are expected to arrive at Bani Gala on (Monday) at 5 pm to hold talks with the PTI leadership. Sources say that in making the decision the PML-Q plainly refused the PML-N's approaches.

The decision was made at a party meeting called by Shujaat. The view of the party leadership was that the PML-N has always reached out to them whenever it has been in their own best interests. Insiders say that a consensus was built on supporting the PTI in Punjab and the National Assembly to foster ties between the two parties.
Back on July 28, former speaker of the the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq contacted PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi hoping to make them their coalition partners in Punjab.
It is even believed that the PML-N offered the province's chief minister seat to the PML-Q. The party, however, decided to lend their support to the PTI instead.
Both the PML-N and PTI had announced they would form a government in Punjab, the country’s biggest province where both the rival parties have bagged almost similar number of seats for the provincial assembly.

From the 279 Punjab Assembly seats on which direct polls were held, the PML-N – which has ruled the province for two consecutive terms from 2008 till 2018 – had won 127 seats while the PTI, which is also leading in the National Assembly, has secured 123 seats
