Bringing change: Wagah border to get new gates before August 14
Both countries have agreed on installing similar gates

As Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf sweeps the general elections with the slogan of ‘change’, the bilateral relations between Pakistan and India are also expected to witness some of it. Both the countries are set to replace their old gates installed at Wagah border with new ones.
The process of change of gates has started from Lahore's Wagah border which would be completed before August 14.
The Indian security officials have confirmed the replacement of gates on Wagah Border and said both the countries have agreed on installing similar gates.
Pakistan team visits Wagah border to witness flag-lowering ceremony
Punjab Rangers and Border Security Force India have also started performing similar parade each day. The gates were installed between the two countries after the separation in 1947.
Digging has started for the installation of new gates of the similar structures.
