SHC Dismisses Fir: Woman, daughters to live independently
The Sindh High Court allowed a woman and her two daughters to live independently
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court allowed a woman and her two daughters to live independently and dismissed an FIR in which the father claimed they were kidnapped. Mother Nazir Begum and her daughters, Shumaila and Sumaira Noureen, filed a petition against the FIR lodged by the father, Muhammad Sadiq. He had claimed that the women were abducted and that the police should direct them to live with him. The women said that they left when Sadiq tried to force Shumaila to marry a rich man from France. At first, the judges were contemplating sending the women to Darul Aman but later allowed them to live independently. The bench stressed, however, that the women must not live with any man they are not related to.
