Directs irrigation department to strengthen safety banks
BAHAWALPUR:
Bahawalpur Commissioner Nayyar Iqbal said the district administration should provide complete support and cooperation to ensure effective delivery of municipal services and improving the cleanliness and sanitation situation in Bahawalnagar.
He expressed these views while heading a meeting at DCO Office Bahawalnagar to access the district administration and irrigation department’s preparations for the improvement of health and sanitation sector and counter the possible flood situation. He stressed the need for saving the environment of the city.
Flood protection plan awaits K-P nod
The commissioner issued the directions while reviewing the arrangements for the possible flood situation that for countering the possible flood situation, arrangements and preparations should be completed before hand. He directed the irrigation department to strengthen the safety banks further and also keep an eye on the breaches in canals.
The meeting was informed that there was no threat of flood in the district but the district administration should complete all the arrangements.
