KARACHI: The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) appreciated the decision of the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) under the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to set up the Centre of Excellence (CoE) recommended by UNISAME. UNISAME President Zulfikar Thaver said, “Our forum had recommended the CoE and it is indeed very heartening to note that SBP has decided to set up the same.” He said that CoE will improve the efficiency and competency of the banking industry in Pakistan. It will enable it to become modern and in line with global banking concepts and practices. Thaver said that UNISAME has also recommended CoE for all institutions and organisations and would pursue the proposal with the newly elected government to set up CoE in respective fields of governance and performance.
