Pakistan retained sixth position in the ICC Test Championship rankings after the 196 run victory against West Indies in the second test of the drawn two match series.

Pakistan are now four points ahead of West Indies, who are on seventh position and 17 points behind fifth-ranked Australia. Pakistan has dropped below seventh position thrice in the past eight years, in 2003, 2005 and 2010.

Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq jumped eight places to reach career-best ranking at 22. Haq is behind Younus Khan, who is placed 17th despite not playing in the series.

Umar Akmal jumped to 35, two up from his previous position. Sachin Tendulkar leads the batting table, with Jacques Kallis and Kumar Sangakkara following.

Spinner Saeed Ajmal also achieved career-best ranking at number 27 and is the second highest ranked Pakistani after Umar Gul.
