School heads to be charged under PEEDA Act
DEAs, CEOs have been told to prepare a list of schools in their jurisdiction

The public school heads whose schools performed poorly in the recently-announced matriculation annual examinations will be charged under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act 2006.
The District Education Authorities (DEAs) Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) have been told to prepare a list of the schools in their jurisdiction as per the results of their respective institutions and submit it to the office of the Director Public Instructions (SE). Furthermore, the CEOs have been told to take action against the low-performing school heads in their jurisdictions.
Matriculation examination results announced
A letter sent all CEOs in Punjab said, "The School Education Department, Government of Punjab has desired that the Heads of the institution showing good results be awarded appreciation letter and whereas the heads who have shown poor performance be dealt with under PEEDA Act 2006 as per previous practice".
The letter further directed, "You are hereby directed to look into the matter of preparation of result of SSC exams 2018 at your own personal level and submit the names of the responsible heads of the institutions, who have shown the poor result in the SSC-Exam-2018." The letter also told the CEOs to submit their finding within one week after the declaration of results for further necessary action.

According to the letter, the department has prepared six categories for CEOs to divide and report the performance of schools in each of the districts. The first category asks about the number of students who appeared for the annual SSC examination. The second category of schools that had results between zero to 10%. The third is of schools having a success rate of 11 to 25%. The fourth category is of schools that have results below the average result of their respective board. The fifth category enlists schools that scored above the average results of their respective board. The sixth and last category is of schools that have above 80% result.
The matriculation or SSC annual results were announced on July 21 across Punjab by different Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs). There are a total of nine BISEs in Punjab and the BISE Lahore had a success rate of 75.14 percent this year.
