The 25-year-old singer-cum-actor, in a recent interview with Mid-Day, said that she would love to collaborate with ace Bollywood composer AR Rahman. Now wouldn't that be something?
"I have been following a few musicians in India and I believe they are wonderful," said the 13 Reasons Why producer.
"I like AR Rahman's work. He is a global figure today. I would love to sing or be part of his compositions. I think it would be beautiful to sing for Bollywood."
The singer already has numerous albums to her credit, with hits like Bad Liar, Hands To Myself, It Aint Me, Come And Get It and Back To You.
Back in 2013, Gomez drew ire when she was sported wearing a bindi. “The bindi on the forehead is an ancient tradition in Hinduism and has religious significance,” Hindu statesman Rajan Zed told WENN.
“It is also sometimes referred to as the third eye and the flame, and it is an auspicious religious and spiritual symbol. It is not meant to be thrown around loosely for seductive effects or as a fashion accessory aiming at mercantile greed. Selena should apologise and then she should get acquainted with the basics of world religions.”
To this, Gomez had said, “My hairstylist and my makeup artist are actually really big into the whole culture — they’ve been around, they’ve travelled, they’ve gotten me into various books. I’ve been travelling, too. It’s been really fun to explore that because it’s a very different view and it’s such a beautiful culture.”
Meanwhile, Gomez was in the headlines recently for her personal life, when her on-again, off-again beau Justin Bieber announced his engagement to model Hailey Baldwin.
Everyone was waiting for Gomez's response to this shocking turn of events, given that she and Bieber were also dating, at the beginning of 2018.
When the paparazzi hounded the singer with questions about the engagement, she chose to stay mum on the issue and not talk about it. It is suggested that Gomez's latest single Back To You is inspired by her relationship with Bieber.
