Commissioner vows to make Gujranwala clean, green

Every citizen should be part of the campaign, says the Commissioner

GUJRANWALA: District Commissioner Asadullah Faiz has said that Gujranwala will be turned into a green and clean city. With the assistance of industrialists, traders and philanthropists , environment-friendly and fruit producing trees will be planted on thoroughfares, green belts, educational institutions and public places.

He said this while chairing a meeting at his office on Thursday.

On the occasion, Faiz added that with the collaboration of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the big thoroughfare of the city will be developed and fruit producing and environment friendly plants, including neem, sheesham, kekar, jamun, pear, and mangoes will be grown at green belts across the city.

The commissioner maintained that in order to control pollution and ensure provision of a clean and healthy environment to the citizens, every individual should become a part of the campaign along with the divisional and district administrations.
