The district administration has taken action over 1,100 complaints about violation of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) code of conduct across the district.
Deputy Commissioner Mudassir Riaz Malik imposed Rs500,000 fine on 24 candidates and cases were also registered against four candidates. The district government also referred cases of two government employees to the ECP for legal action over participating in the election campaigns.
Meanwhile, the DC visited tehsil Shujabad and inspected various polling stations set up for July 25 elections. He also visited THQ Hospital and a public school. He ordered for the arrest of a private medical representative and directed for an inquiry against a doctor for not attending to patients.
