Erdogan lauds his 'brother' Shehbaz Sharif's efforts in fostering Pak-Turk ties

Wish the general elections will serve to the good of Pakistan, Erdogan says

Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has underscored Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Shehbaz Sharif's efforts to foster ties between the two countries.

In a letter, Erdoğan addresses the former chief minister of Punjab as his 'brother'.

"I would like to thank you for your kind letter regarding the end of your tenure as Punjab's CM in the context of general elections to be held in Pakistan," the letter reads.

"First of all, I wish to emphasize that the admirable efforts you have made for the promotions of cooperations between Punjab Province of Pakistan and Turkey during your five years duty in office are appreciated".

"The brotherhood and friendly ties originating from history and existing cooperation between the peoples of Pakistan and Turkey will be handed over to the next generations in a stronger fashion,"the Justice and Development Party chief adds.

"I wish the general elections to be held on July 25, 2018 would serve to the good of the people of Pakistan".

"I would like to take this opportunity to offer my best wishes for the health and happiness of you and your family and well-being of the friendly and brotherly people of Pakistan".

Moreover, the Turkish president invited Shehbaz to his presidential inauguration ceremony which took place on July 9.
