LAHORE:
An assistant sub-inspector (ASI), who was reportedly admonished by his high-ups over a request to go on leaves, committed suicide in Lahore on Tuesday. Imtiaz Ahmed, who served as an investigations officer in Baghbanpura area, shot himself. Earlier, the officer was suspended and reprimanded by the police superintendent, Civil Lines investigation. Though the reasons behind the suspension are still unknown, Ahmed’s colleagues stated he was frustrated by the behaviour of the SPs at work. Police have launched an investigation in order to ascertain the real cause. About a week ago, a police official committed suicide in Badami Bagh after shooting himself in the head. Ahmad Hussain, 23, a resident of Khokar Road, was reported to have been depressed. He had been deployed at Qila Gujjar Singh Police
