QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) General Secretary Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has said that they want to make Balochistan a role model for other provinces to follow but key external powers were adamant on creating political instability in the country.

“Education, health and the rule of law inside Balochistan should be exemplary for other provinces to follow but external forces do not want the country to be economically and politically independent,” said Haideri while talking to journalists on Sunday.

He said, “All political parties must purge terrorism from the country. The peace and development in Balochistan is indigestible for the enemies of country; therefore, they have started intimidating tactics inside the province.”

He said, “It is difficult to contest elections in such an atmosphere. However, we have to overcome this. We have to make Pakistan an exemplary country throughout the world. We have to counter international pressure to ensure a secure future and sustainable economy.”

He condemned the stance of the militants and said, “We are with the state. Now it is the responsibility of the state to make arrangements for our protection.”

He vowed to make Balochistan an exemplary province “if given a chance”.
