Karate practicioner from Khyber Agency shot dead

International Karateka player Samad Afridi was shot dead on Saturday by unidentified gunmen in Shahkas area of Tehsil Bara.
Afridi, a local of the Bara area Khyber Agency, was on his way in a car when armed assailants ambushed him and fled. Local people and Levies officials rushed to the spot, cordoned off the area and took Afridi to Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), but he succumbed to injuries on the way.
Afridi recently represented Pakistan in Azarbaijan in the World Koi Kai Kashin Karate Championship and 5th Asian Martial Arts Games held in Turkmenistan. He also visited Malaysia as well and represented Pakistan in the Asian Karate Championship.
