LEAs nab four suspects in Gulshan-e-Maymar
KARACHI:
A suspected terrorist belonging to a banned outfit died on Friday after he allegedly jumped off a building in a bid to escape from law enforcement agencies (LEAs) during a raid.
The raid was jointly conducted by the Rangers and Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the police in Salfia Colony in the Gulshan-e-Maymar neighbourhood. The LEAs had received information that a wanted terrorist, Musharraf Mehsud alias Saifullah, had been hiding there.
According to a Rangers spokesperson, the suspect, however, jumped from the building rooftop in order to escape the arrest. The LEAs personnel immediately shifted him to a hospital, however, he could not be saved. The LEAs also claimed to have recovered a pistol and ammunition from his possession.

The paramilitary force and AVCC, however, arrested four alleged companions of the deceased. They were identified as Ahmed Nawaz, Aziz, Zafran and Noor. The LEAs also recovered at least three kilogrammes of explosive material, detonating wire and two hand grenades from the building.
The suspects arrested were later handed over to the police for the initiation of legal proceedings, the spokesperson revealed.
According to the spokesperson, Saifullah was wanted in various cases of crime such as targeted killings of law enforcers and kidnapping for ransom, including the abduction of Maj (retd) Naukhez in 2016.
