Police finalise security arrangements

At least 10,923 police personnel will perform duty on polling day

BAHAWALPUR: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisal Rana has said that all the security arrangements for the upcoming general election have been completed in the division. He said that out of total 4,321 polling stations, 224 had been declared highly sensitive, while 705 were categorised as sensitive. At least 10,923 police personnel will perform duty on polling day. Besides, 825 Qaumi Razakars and 11,251 Special Police Force personnel will also perform security duty, he added.  The polling stations had been divided into 74 sectors and 432 sub-sectors for provision of foolproof security, he said. The RPO maintained that 524 police mobiles, 849 patrolling motorcycles, 81 Elite Force, 74 Quick Response Force Commandos and Anti-Riot Force will perform surveillance to handle any untoward incident. He pointed out that 182 police personnel will provide security to the offices and staff of Election Commission of Pakistan.
