Police nab four culprits; seize snatched rifles and chemical kite string

FAISALABAD:
At least two policemen were reportedly assaulted by workers of a factory during a raid in Faisalabad’s Sialwi Colony on Tuesday.

An official told Express News that police received information that an illegal factory situated was making kites and chemical string which is in violation of the rules. Based on the tip-off, the team of Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station reached the spot to nab the culprits.

However, the workers of the factory, including Muhammad Nadeem, Muhammad Javed, Muhammad Yaqoob, Allah Ditta, Aijaz, Riaz and others, caught hold of the two policemen identified as Muhammad Ahsan and Afzal Ahmed.

They snatched their rifles and forcibly took them to a nearby house where they beat the officials.

As a result, both cops suffered severe injuries to different parts of the body. The accused also tore the uniforms of six policemen during the scuffle.

Later, more policemen were called to the area to rescue the victims. The police managed to arrest four culprits from the spot, while the others fled the scene.

During a search of the factory, the police seized cash, a mobile phone, the snatched rifles, chemical string, machines and other items.

A case has been registered against the accused under sections 411, 149, 147, 353, 186, 382, 342 and the Kit Flying Act-4 on the complaint of ASI Muhammad Muzammil. Further probe was underway.

Earlier, two policemen were beaten for raiding a house without legal warrants in Dera Ghazi Khan.
