CS orders better cleanliness
Chief Secretary Punjab Akbar Durrani directs to prepare cost estimates for repair and maintenance of buildings

Chief Secretary Punjab Akbar Durrani on Monday ordered medical superintendents of Punjab Dental and Lady Willingdon hospitals to improve cleanliness arrangements in their respective healthcare facilities. During his visit to hospitals, Durrani inspected different wards, asked patients about the provision of health facilities and issued necessary orders for resolving their problems. He directed the medical superintendents to prepare cost estimates for repair and maintenance of buildings, and purchase beds, necessary equipment, and machines. He also ordered for starting evening shift in the dental hospital to facilitate patients, especially the government servants. Talking to students of De’Montmorency College of Dentistry, the CS said: “Medical is a noble profession; doctors should take pride and perform their duties considering it a service to humanity.” He said that the visit of hospitals was aimed at bringing improvement in health facilities.
