Police stop leaking oil tanker

Says connecting pipe seal of oil tanker was ruptured while it was being driven

BAHAWALPUR:
Bahawalpur and Lodhran cities were saved from possible destruction, after a leaking oil tanker carrying 48,000 litres of fuel, was stopped by the police and Emergency Rescue Service at Sutlej River on Monday.

Rescue 1122 District Emergency Officer Baqir Hussain said the connecting pipe seal of the oil tanker was ruptured while it was being driven.

He said the oil tanker was on its way to Lahore from Karachi.

“Local Emergency Service Rescue 1122 received a phone call from a passenger who witnessed the tanker leaking oil while being driven.” Rescuers rushed to the site and stopped the oil tanker from driving further.
