QWP calls for unity to ensure fair elections
Sherpao slams PTI for failing to fulfil election promises
PESHAWAR:
In the wake of the Avenfield reference verdict which sentenced former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz to severe lengthy prison sentences, one party has called for forging unity to maintain a peaceful political atmosphere and steer the country out of the current crisis.
This was stated by Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Sherpao as he addressed election rallies in the provincial assembly constituency PK-67-Peshawar and Shodag union council in Tangi Tehsil, Charsadda.
QWP announces education, health centric manifesto
The former federal minister said that this was not a time to score points, rather one where all forces should come forward to plan effective measures to resolve the prevailing situation and pave the way for the timely and transparent holding of elections.
He said that some political parties in the centre had no consensus over vital issues which had perpetuated the problem of misgovernance. He added that after the merger of the erstwhile federally administered tribal areas Fata with K-P, there was a need to pay greater attention to the neglected areas of the country and put them on the path of development.
