PPP’s opponents enjoy no support of masses: Bilawal
Says it is not the responsibility of judiciary to construct dams

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he would complete the dream of Benazir Bhutto if he comes into power with the support of the masses.
Addressing a big gathering in Khangarh stadium, Bilawal said, “Our opponents enjoy no support of the masses and they were depending upon the invisible forces.” He added that he joined politics to carry the mission of his mother.
He criticised Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan whom he called “fake”. Bilawal said that he is being challenged by political parties that have not even presented their manifestos so far. “How can Taliban Khan and the one who is asking why he was ousted contest against us,” he asked and vowed to fulfill his election promises.
He also criticised the judiciary for meddling in the domain of elected governments. “Judiciary is not responsible for the construction of dams; it is the responsibility of the governments,” he added. “PPP has always raised the issue of water scarcity and we will resolve it,” he said. Bilawal thanked the people for their overwhelming reception and said that he would never forget their love and affection.
Bilawal paid rich tributes to Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan for his services rendered for the cause of democracy and called him "Baba-i-Jamhooriyet". He also paid a visit to the grave of Nawabzada and offered Fateha.
He said that Benazir Bhutto had developed Khangarh and provided it with natural gas. “We have waged a struggle against terrorism and rendered precious sacrifices,” he added.
The public meeting was also addressed by Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmed Khan, Malik Bilal Khar, Malik Raza Khar, Syed Izan Abbas, Begum Rahat Dogar, Sardar Akhtar Gopang, Abdul Qayyum Jatoi, Akhtar Gopang, Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood and Mehr Irshad Siyal.
“PPP is the only party who fought for the rights of people of this region. I am surprised that these puppets have now raised the issue of Seraiki province,” Bilawal said.
He acknowledged the struggle of Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan who stood by Benazir Bhutto in her fight against dictators. “My mother would indeed be much pleased today because son of Nawabzada Nasrullah is standing with her son in his first elections and we both are struggling to fulfill her promises to save Pakistan,” said Bilawal Bhutto.
He said that he wants a society where each male, female, youngster and minority member has equal rights and equal opportunities. The PPP chairman said that he wants a society free of exploitation and injustice.
“PPP will provide equal chances of progress to every individual along with better health and education facilities. No power on earth can stop me from fulfilling these promises of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for which she struggled for her whole life even when she was imprisoned, exiled and faced one dictator after the other,” he said.
He said that struggle of Benazir Bhutto was for the rights of people, elimination of extremism, rule of law, strengthening of institutions and for democracy. Bilawal said that Zardari took the reins of country when there was restlessness in Balochistan, Sindh, Swat but despite all these difficulties, he strengthened the federation, launched Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan, introduced 18th amendment and 7th NFC award, inaugurated Benazir Income Support program and CPEC, and initiated Iran Pakistan gas pipeline project and provided relief to the farmers.

“In the PPP manifesto, there is a revolutionary programme for farmers,” he said. Bilawal added that PPP has always introduced farmer friendly manifesto because “when the farmers prosper, the country prospers.”
He said that PPP will follow the same pattern of Benazir Income Support Card introduce Benazir Kisaan card and Benazir food card to end poverty under its ‘bhook mitao programme’.
He added that the farmers would be registered they will be provided subsidies and interest free loans through the Kisan card. “With the Kisaan card, farmers would be given Urea bag with the cost of Rs500 that is of Rs1,800 today,” he added. Bilawal said that the crops of the farmers would be insured in case of natural calamities.
“Pakistan is an agricultural country but when PPP came into government in 2008, the country was importing wheat and only Rs400 per mound were paid to the farmers, he said adding “Peoples party increased this amount to Rs1200 and ended the exploitation of farmer by providing just prices of their crops.”
ECP takes notice of attempt to prevent Bilawal from reaching Uch Sharif
He said that in India provides subsidy on 26 crops while in Pakistan it is provided only on wheat. “PPP will provide subsidy on rice, wheat, pulses and other crops after winning upcoming elections,” he added. Bilawal assured sugarcane growers that CPR would be given the checking status.
“PPP has established new hospitals in Sindh where 100 per cent free of cost treatment is provided,” he said adding “14 new universities were established and started revolutionary Thar coal project to eliminate energy crisis and overbilling.”
Bilawal said that PPP have given interest free loans to 0.8 million women and provided them jobs of truck drivers to civil engineers so that they would be able to play their role in Pakistan’s economy. “But our opponents always say that we have not done anything because we have not constructed metros,” he added.
He said that 70,000 acres of land was freely distributed among poor farmers. “PPP has established 2,000 RO water plants for water purification in Sindh.”
Bilawal said that PPP has established grid station in Khangarh, provided gas, constructed embankments to stop flood and constructed Khangarh by pass to facilitate the masses.
He thanked the people of Khangarh for showing up in great number despite hot weather. He said that he was welcomed by people with open arms from Karachi to Khyber. PPP also held corner meetings with party leaders of Khangarh and Muzaffargarh. Bilawal will address a rally in Multan on Monday (today).
