Paresh wrote, "After watching Sanju, I was numb with limitless emotions. I just wanted to hug Sanjay, hold onto him and cry. Cry endlessly to the years we had lost, to the years we stood by and witnessed this roller-coaster ride called life and the irrevocable loss of loved ones… To the mistakes, we cannot undo, to the strength we cannot find elsewhere but in each other."
He continued that the world now knows their story. Paresh added that Sanjay helped him become the man that he is and showed him how to get back up after every fall. He then further described the film as an "ode" to learning from your mistakes and defining the core meaning of friendship.
