Kundi asked for recruitment ‘favours’: Hoti

ISLAMABAD: Frontier Corps Commandant Akbar Khan Hoti accused Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Faisal Kundi of retribution after his request for recruitments was denied.

These charges were levelled by Hoti during a meeting of the National Assembly's standing committee on Interior, which was held at the National Assembly building with Abdul Qadir Baloch in the chair.

Sources said that the deputy speaker of the National Assembly had sent a written complaint to committee's Chairperson Bushra Gohar, claiming that the Frontier Corp's recruitment procedure lacked transparency and called for a review.

The committee subsequently summoned the FC Commandant to explain the matter.

During his appearance before the NA standing committee, Hoti presented the list of 19 names suggested by Kundi for illegal appointment into the Frontier Corps.

Hoti went on to claim that he had received threats from the deputy speaker for denying . Hoti said that he was steadfast in ensuring all appointments made in FC were based on merit.
