Interim Health Minister Faiz Kakar on Wednesday said that up to 27,000 new Tuberculosis patients have emerged in Balochistan, which is an alarming situation for the province.
“Following countrywide TB Control Program, at least 12,000 Tuberculosis patients had been treated in Balochistan and annually more than 27,000 new cases of TB emerged in the province, which indicates that the provincial health department needs to do more to prevent the diseases,” Faiz Kakar said while starting a TB control campaign in Quetta.
Healthcare drive in Quetta targets crippling diseases
With regards to the lack of resources in the Health Sector, Kakar said, “Though we have lack of funds and resources in Health Department but unfortunately our employees are not showing sincerity towards their profession.”
He said that the negligence of the staff has compelled the health sector to take assistance from the Indus Hospital and private sector. Kakar lauded the efforts of Indus Hospital’s services in revamping Malaria and TB.

He assured the organization of all government support in expanding the program in rest of the province.’
The Indus Hospital Network CEO Professor Doctor Abdul Bari has signed MoU with Provincial Government to launch a program will help in eradicating TB from Balochistan.
