PESHAWAR:
Government employees in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Wednesday were directed to keep their distance from political activities in the province during election campaigns, otherwise, they will face strict action.

The directives were issued by the K-P Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd) Dost Muhammad Khan.

According to a notification from the interim chief minister, issued by the K-P Establishment Department, all administrative secretaries, commissioners, deputy commissioners and heads of attached departments were told to ensure that staff do not indulge in political activity.

The notice read that the chief minister’s secretariat was receiving reports about the involvement of certain officers at the district level in influencing the election results by favouring certain candidates of different political parties.

It directed that all concerned to remain impartial and keep a strict watch on their subordinate formations.
