The entire fund worth Rs15 billion has been utilised due to the provincial government and the planning department’s efforts for the first time in the history of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B), said the planning department of the province in a note issued Monday. “This was a milestone for G-B and an omen for the progress and prosperity of the region,” it added. According to the note, in the past around 50% to 60% of the total allocation by the federal government would be utilised in this region. Due to this the central government objected on issuing new funds, it stated. However, for the first time funds received from the federal government were utilised well in time and the required quality and standard were maintained during execution of the development projects.
