Kasur: New DCO issued show cause notice

petitioner submitted that Raizuddin allotted land to another person namely Bhai Khan despite the order of court.

LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday issued a show cause notice to the newly appointed Kasur district officer (Consolidation) Raizuddin and referred the case to the Anti-Corruption Establishment.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed issued the order while hearing a plea filed by Zafran Bibi, a resident of Mianwali, for contempt of court proceeding against the DCO. The judge adjourned the hearing for June 7.

The counsel for petitioner submitted before the court that Raizuddin, who was then DOR in Khushab, allotted land to another person namely Bhai Khan despite the order of the court. He said he was guilty of contempt of court and strict action should be taken against him.

The court, earlier, had directed Raizuddin on February 6, 2009, to allot a piece of land to the petitioner and his displaced family. The petitioner submitted that Raizuddin committed contempt of court by neglecting the court’s order.

The counsel for the petitioner said that despite giving an undertaking to the court, the accused did not comply with the court order and allotted the land to some other person.
