LAHORE: Due to a lawyers’ strike, Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sidhu of the Lahore High Court, on Monday, deferred hearing of the petition seeking the recovery of the missing families of deceased Faheem Shamshad and Faizan Haider, who were gunned down by CIA contractor Raymond Davis.

Musarrat Bibi, mother-in-law of Shamshad, was present at the court on Monday. She said they were the real legal heirs of Shamshad and their consent prior to the release of Davis was necessary. She said no one had asked them before releasing Davis.

She said her daughter Shumaila, Shamshad’s wife, also died due to this shooting. She appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice and ensure punishment to Davis.

Advocate Malik Munsif Awan had moved the petition against the interior minister, the Punjab home secretary and the inspector general of Punjab Police.
