Terrorised husband: Court suspends FIR order against wife

Aziz had said that Naseema had married him in order to usurp his property.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday suspended an order by an additional sessions judge telling the police to register an FIR against a women for allegedly detaining her husband.


Justice Qasim Khan of the LHC also issued notice to the respondents for June 7 to submit their replies.

The petitioner, Anisa Naseema submitted, through her counsel Advocate Raja Abdul Rehman, that she had married Malik Aziz, a petroleum engineer, on January 1, 2011.

She said after the relationship between the two deteriorated, her husband managed to get an order from an additional sessions judge and registered an FIR against her. She requested the court to set aside the order that she said was obtained by making false allegations.

Aziz had said that Naseema had married him in order to usurp his property.


He said that before they were married, she had introduced herself as a divorcee and a mother of one. Later, he said, he came to know that she was still married to her first husband.

Also he said soon after their marriage, she started pressuring him to transfer his property in her name.

He said after a month, he got separated from her. He said she called him on March 5, 2011, and sought for reconciliation.

When he went to see her at his house, the petitioner  said, she detained him in a room for four hours and threatened to kill him.

The petitioner said he had to be rescued.

He said he divorced her after that, but she was still making threatening calls to him.
