0.6 million children to be vaccinated

Says directed officers are to ensure that polio teams are stationed at all exit and entry points

An anti-polio campaign will be launched across the district on July 2 to inoculate 0.612 million children under five years of age.

Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur have been declared sensitive areas due to the boundary they share with Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, said Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhatti.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting regarding the arrangement made for the campaign.

He directed officers to ensure that polio teams are stationed at all exit and entry points.

No negligence will be tolerated in this campaign, he said.

CEO Health Dr Khalil Ahmed stated that 3,382 polio workers will participate in this campaign, constituting 1,559 teams.

Teams will also be deployed at railway stations, bus stands and other public places. Assistant Commissioner Shahid Abbas Kathiya, AC Abdul Jabbar, CEO Education Sanaullah Surani and other officials were also present during the meeting.
