KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) adjourned on Monday the hearing of a plea against the candidacy of former Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah on the basis of his Iqama till June 6. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, expressing dissatisfaction over the report filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan, sought a detailed response by the next hearing.

Murad Ali Shah's lawyer contended that the Supreme Court had earlier rejected a plea against the disqualification of the former CM. Later, the election tribunal had also rejected a similar plea on this basis. He added that the plea was therefore ineligible for hearing and requested the court to reject it.
Justice Mazhar said the verdict would be announced after verification by the ECP.
