SHABQADAR: Work on the Mohmand-Bajaur Expressway has resumed following directions from the army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

While work resumed on Monday, on Sunday, Mohmand Deputy Commissioner Wasif Saeed and 103 Wing chief Brigadier Shuab Akram inspected the Lakaro—Mamadgat section. They later met with local tribal elders.

They told the jirga funds for the project have been released and that constriction of the road is expected to be completed within a few months.

The officials also visited the Mohmand Cadet College and basic health units in the area and inspected the construction work on the college.

Tribal elders and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate for NA-42 Malak Safi expressed their satisfaction over the efforts of the government on rebuilding the road.
