Members of Punjab’s Nazeer Jutt group opened fire on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters, injuring a 14-year-old, outside PML-N candidate Nazeer Arain’s office in Burewala on Monday.
The group members oppose the PML-N candidate and ended up in a scuffling with members of the party.
The teenager suffered severe injuries in the incident and was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
A contingent of police reached the site but the suspects managed to flee.
Separately, the PML-N candidate from NA-124, Hamza Shehbaz, initiated his election campaign on Monday.
The PML-N leader will inaugurate the central office at Bhatti Chowk on June 27. With the inauguration of his office, Hamza will formally begin the campaign, Shehbaz’s spokesperson confirmed.
