Former PM's son Ali Musa Gillani is standing from NA-157 in upcoming polls
MULTAN:
Former members of National Assembly Roy Mansab Ali Khan and Nawab Liaquat have extended their support to Pakistan Peoples Party's candidate Ali Musa Gillani in Multan's NA-157 constituency for upcoming general elections.
The former parliamentarians announced their decision while addressing a joint press conference at the residence of former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani in Multan on Sunday.
"This will be a historic election with an unprecedented result," the former prime minister said.
"Our party wants the restoration of the Constitution and democracy in Pakistan in line with the struggles of Benazir Bhutto," he added. Gillani said the party has now become stronger with the support of two former MNAs.
PPP will not accept ‘censored, puppet democracy’, says Bilawal
He said the PPP would emerge victorious in next month's elections with a big margin in South Punjab.
The former prime minister said that the PPP has worked tirelessly for the supremacy of the Constitution and democracy.
Speaking on the occasion, Mansab claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was demanding money from candidates to award party tickets to them.
"I've joined this party because of what they stand for," he added.
