Woman dies after consuming poisonous food

Rescue 1122 officials say husband and wife residents of Millat Town consumed poisonous food

FAISALABAD: A woman died and her husband fell ill after consuming poisonous food in Nishatabad area on Friday.

Rescue 1122 officials said 25-year-old Javed and his wife Rehana, 19, residents of Millat Town, consumed poisonous food. As a result, the couple’s condition deteriorated and they fell unconscious. However, Rehana died, while Javed was shifted to Allied Hospital in critical condition.

In another incident, a woman was killed in a road mishap. Rescue officials said Rehana Bibi was driving a car on Sheikhupura Road when one of its tyres burst. As a result, the vehicle overturned and rolled over to roadside fields. Rescue officials shifted the woman to Rural Health Centre in Khurrianwala but she could not survive.

The police claimed to have arrested six youngsters for doing one-wheeling. The police said those arrested included Talha, Ali Raza, Arsalan, Umar Farooq and Shafat Ali.
