KARACHI:
It is a common norm for most of the public as well as private establishments in the country to have 'family days' or a 'families only' policy owing to safety issues for women.

However, Karachi's Askari Amusement Park has come up with a novel idea to appease men.

The amusement park recently announced that it would only cater to male visitors every Monday.

"Nine out of the 10 messages we got on our Facebook page were of males who wanted to visit us but with their friends or cousins who happen to be boys,"Askari Amusement Park's Creative Marketing Director Anam Feroze told The Express Tribune.

"Taking this into consideration and the fact that we want everyone to be able to visit the park we decided to make Monday only for male visitors," she added.

'Families only' events in K-P leave men disgruntled

"Throughout the week we have a families only policy to ensure a safe environment for our visitors," Feroze further said.

Facebook users were quick to comment on their page with one person commenting saying: "Everyone deserves a good time and boys can plan their own outings now without being turned down at the entrance, well done."

Another user commented that "it is because men harass women that they are not allowed on normal days".

While girls demanded for the park to have a women only day as well.
