Kit Harington to cut off his Jon Snow hair after 'Game of Thrones'
'This role was brilliant but I'll need to get rid of Jon Snow...' said the actor
LONDON:
The world of Game of Thrones (GoT) is quite unique and scary. The unlikeliest of characters survive till the end while the most-loved ones can die in the most unexpected of moments.
Nonetheless, GoT has managed to garner countless fans who would give it their all. Not just the show, the actors also receive a lot of admiration. So, it comes as no surprise if and when there's any news that surfaces regarding their lives. Even if it is just about them cutting their hair...
Actor Kit Harington, for instance, has recently revealed that he will chop his hair short after shooting for GoT is over. With filming for the final season of the fantasy series entering its last weeks, Harington has expressed his wish to cut his signature long hair.
"I'd like to step away and enjoy the obscurity, cut my hair, make myself less recognisable as the character and go do and some other things with a completely new look and tone," the British star expressed.
Harington gained a lot of popularity for playing Jon Snow across eight seasons of the show. So, how short exactly will he go? "Short-short," is how he described it. "The beard will be harder to get rid of - I quite like the beard."
The actor stated that he likes having the long hair and beard both but he needs to get rid of them as "it will be like ritualistic thing." Harington added, "I can't go into my next role looking the same. This role was brilliant but I'll need to get rid of Jon Snow."
Kit Harington, Rose Leslie announce wedding date
GoT has become a global phenomenon with its whimsical world of dragons and White Walkers on one hand, and a touch of reality with the complexity of emotions, relationships and how they cannot be trusted when it comes to ruling a kingdom.
The show brought worldwide acclaim to actors like Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, Harington, Lena Headey, Maisie Williams, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Iwan Rheon and Iain Glen.
The final season will premiere next year.
