LAHORE: Students from ten girls’ colleges and universities participated in a quiz about the 60 years of friendly diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China at the Government College for Women Gulberg on Saturday.

The host college did best in the five-round quiz, but the host team was not considered part of the competition and the result was declared a tie between the Lahore College for Women University and Ayesha Degree College. The latter was declared the winner after a tiebreaker. Apart from the quiz, the event included discussions about how the two countries had supported each other and how each benefited from the relationship.  Assistant Professor Azra Naheed of the college said that the purpose of the discussion was to make the students aware of the importance of Pakistan’s ties to its northern neighbour. “We have 6,000 students in China, especially Xinjiang province,” she said.
